Community Involvement

Kehilat Hadar – Gabbai (2009-); Leadership Team Member (2006-2009) [www]
Kehilat Hadar is an independent, egalitarian community committed to spirited traditional prayer, study and social action, that meets for Shabbat morning services, and offers holiday services and educational programs throughout the year.

Tikvat Yisrael – Board member; Vice President (2008-) [www]
Tikvat Yisrael is a community organization whose goal is to bring together Jews of different religious backgrounds, using commitment to prayer as a fundamental tie that binds us together, and to create a common pluralistic space for dialogue and education.

Hazon – NY Ride Steering Committee Member (2008) [www]
Hazon's vision is to create a healthier and more sustainable Jewish community -- as a step towards a healthier and more sustainable world for all. It seeks to achieve this vision through two types of programs. The first of these is outdoor physical challenge; the best-known part of our work in this area is a series of Jewish Environmental Bike Rides, in the US and Israel. The second is looking at food through the double prism of Jewish tradition and contemporary life. Our work in this area includes the first CSAs (Community-Supported Agriculture programs) in the American Jewish community, as well as educational curricula, work in schools, an annual conference, and an award-winning blog.
